He wandered about the grounds for a bit, and sat himself upon a seat in a secluded alley A pretty girl in a bergeer costume came tripping along all by herself. As she pas?ed he called out * Hi, young 'un ! come here.' ' How dare you address me., you rude fellow,, she cried, and flounced con*iemptously away. After a bit, when she had heard who he was, she tripped back again, going up to the seat where hd was discontentedly sucking away at a very short pipe, she said, with a sweet smile, ' You mmt excuse me Mr Woolp?tck. I did Dot know who you were just now.' ' I was mistaken, too,' he growled. I thought you were Tom Barlett's cook. You're awfully li!<e her. V
