[from our own cobbespondent.] London, December 18. It Is announced tbat Sir George Bramwell, who resigned the position of Lord Justice of Appeal in September last, has been raised to the Peerage. The Marquis of Hartington, Secretary of State/for India, made a speech to«dav, at Burnley, Lancashire in course of which stated although leaguers were continuing: guerilla warfare in Ireland, there were hopeful signs of the agitation in the country gradually diminishing among the tenants.. This was- fact of the increase ing tendency, which has of late been shown on the part of juries to convict for agrarian offences. It is announced that the Queen will attend in person at the opening of Par* liament in February next. December 19. A storm of unusual severity was experienced over a great part of England last night. The wind blew with hurricane foroe t> and caused immense destruction of propertyiin several places. News is to hand from Ireland that the police yesterday proceeded to a house at Dublin, and made an extensive seizure of dynamite, gun powder, and arms, in addition to a number of documents im plicating several people.
