[from our own correspondent.] New Yoek. December 20. Intelligence has been received regarding arclic exploring vessel Jeannette. News lo hand to the effect that she was crushed by ice in June last and abandoned, i he officers and crew taking to boats. One boat load rescued by tbe natives on the Siberian coast, were forwarded to Irkusk, Siberia. Another boat reached north of the river Lina— its crew were suffering fen* olljr. The other boat is slill missing, 1 and it is feared all on board have perished. Constantinople, December 20. The Sultan bas issued an irade sanc> (toning settlement anived at between tbe Turkish Commission and bondholders delegates regarding payment of Ottoman debt. ' Melbourne, December 2L. Tbe Agent Generalship for Victoria in London bas been offered to Murray Smith. He declined tbe appointment. It is announced that the Government declined lo co-operate witho'ber Australian colonies and New Zealand iv measares being taken lo induce the 3o vernment of the United Stales to reduce tbe duty levied on wool imported from tbe Australian colonies.
