Public Notice i _■■ i.i OXYGEN IS LIFE. A LTHOUGH the modern Materia Medica j_\_ inoludes many valuable remedies or human afflictions, itie a matter of certainty that in all cases, where the animal vitality is falling, Phosphorus is decidedly superior to any other remedy at present known. It will work effects such as nothing else will produce, and it possesses the great advantage of not sausing, when its use is relinquished, the slightest action or depression. The question naturally presents itself 'Why is so valuable an element so little regarded and so seldom prescribed," The only answer which can be given is :— That a certain difficulty has be.3 found in so preparing it ihat its action must be kept «-.-ier perfect .ontraL Hitherto it nas been used io almond md olive ous. in sulphuric ether, in rectified ilc.hol, in ohloroform, and in several oa_er mbstances't but however valuible it haa been ound in all the hitherto know methods of ts preparation, certain irregular results have »een experienced, which have led physicians o neglect it ior general purposes, and to employ it o_ly in extreme cases and after every other remedy has failed. But a chemical process has now been discovered, by which its invaluable a.tion on the human system may be realised withon any of those draw* backs which previous modes of administration bave invariably produced. <gT CAUTlON.— Phosphorus i s sometimes sold in the form of Pills and Lozenges; it should be generally known; hat every form where solid particles of Phosphorus are in combination is dangerous. It is therefore necessary that the pubiio should be cautioned against the use of any preparation of Phosphorus not perfectly soluble in water. Protected by Royal Letter Patent. NEW ZEALAND INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION, CHBISTCHDRCH. Those that wish to be represented at the International Exhibition to be held in Christchurch in March next, should inform us of tbeir intention. We bave been connected with all tbe international Exhibitions beld in the colonies, At tbe late Adelaide Exhibition we represented 50 exhibitors, for whom we received 10 gold medals, 49 first, and one second, awards, three of wbich were New Zealand firms, (D. Strang and J. T. Martin, lover* cargill, and O. Bevao, Wellington.) Oar plan is to represent the exhibitors, transact their business, fix the exhibit in its space, attend to tbe judging of exhibits and anything necessary while the Ex« hibition remains open, and at tbe clcse repack and send tbeir goods back, or sell tbem or duplicates thereof if required. It is very inconvenient for Exhibitors to have to attend the Exhibition to fix tbeir exhibits, and causes tbem not only loss of money wbich they must necessarily expend on them, then again tbe exhibitors bave a benefit, tbey bave no trouble in getting space, they inform us bow much is required, and we secure it for them as we bave a large amount granted to us. We fix, &c, the exhibits on a better space than it' they applied. Oor terms are moderate. We specially caution the pubiio against giving tlieir exhibits to so called Exhibition ageuts, wbo bave been tbe rounds of all tbe Exhibitions, and run exhibitors into debt and other difficulty.— Albert "..
