MURRAY CHEEK.
LOW LEVEL TUNNEL.
A distance of 45 feet has been added to the length of the tunnel since the present contractors commenced operations, making the whole length at the present time 660 feet. It will he remembered that in the early Btages of the tunnel, two seams of loose quartz were crossed, the second one of which waa met with at about 460 feet from the mouth. The directors considered it advisable to prospect, the run of quartz, and ordered a cross-drive to be put in. This has now been driven for a distance of 14 feejt, following the stone towards the north. \ No great change has taken place, but yet it appears as if the quartz was becoming more regular and solid, this and the fact that a little gold can be seen has had a tendency to slightly -improve the value of stock, which has been inquired after these last few days past.
