I Publio Notices. I " Lives of great tten all remind us, I We can make par lives sublime ; And, departing, leave behind us Footprints on the sands of time." mHE above is read with great interest by I J_ thoußands of young men. It inspires | them with Hopb, for in the bright lexicon of " youth there- is no such word as fail. Alas! saj many, this is correct,— is truejwith »»gard to the. youth who has never abused his strength— and to the man who has not been 'passion's slave*" , But to that youth— to that matt, who has wasted his vigor, who has yielded himself up to the temporary sweet allurements of vice, who has given unbridled license to his passions, to him the above lines are but a* a self-reproaci ifor a lastlife. Fora man to leave his fo6tsrints'on the sands of time, Jrt must be endowed with a strong brain and nervous power. He mast possess a sound,' vigorous, healthy mind, in a healthy body —the power to conceive— the energy to execute! But look at our Australian youth ! Seethe emaciated form, the vacant look, the listless" hesitating manner, the nervous distrust, the senseless, almost idiotic expression. Note his demeanour and conversation, and then say, Is that a man to leave his footprints on the sands of time. Do' parents, medical men and educators of youth pay sufficient attention to this subject P Do they ever ascertain the cause of this decay ; and having done so, do they (as a strict sense of duty demands) seek the skilled advice of the medical man, who has made this branch of his profession his par< ticular speciality, whose life has been devoted to the treatment of theso oases P Header, what is your answer ? . Let eaoh oae answer for himself. Parents see their progeny fading gradually before their sight, see them become emaciated old young men, broken down in health, enfeebled, unfitted for the battle of life; yet one word might save them, one sound and vigorous health-giving letter from a medical man, habituated to the treatment and continuous supervision of such oases wou? 3, in most instances, sucoeed in warning off tae impending doom of a miserable and gloomy future, and by appropriate treatment restore the enervated system to its natural vigor, and ensure a jojous and happy life* Dr L. L. SMITH, of Melbourne, has made the diseases of youth and those arising therd from his peculiar study. Bis whole professional life has been especially devoted to the treatment of Nervous Affections and the Diseases incidental to Married Life* His skill is available to all — no matter how ms-iy hundreds or thousanda of miles distant. His system of correspondence by letter is now so well orgauised and known, that comment would be superfluous — (by this means many thousands of patients have been oared, whom be has never seen and never known) ; and it is carried on with such judioious supervison that though be has been practising this branch of hiß profession for twenty*six yean in these colonies, no singleinstence of acoi* dental discovery has evOT^yW~happeadd. When : Medicine^ are ' required, these an forwarded in the same careful manner without a possibility' of the contents of the parcels being discovered. Plain and dear directions accompany .these latfer, and a cure is effected without eyen the physician knowing who is hiß patient. To Men and Women with Broken*<2own Constitutions, the Nervous, the Debilitated, and all suffering from any Disease whatever, Dr L, L. SMITH'S plan of treatment com* mends itself, avoiding, as it does, the inconvenience and expense f a personal visit. Addbess— DR. L. L SMITH, 182, COLLINS STREET EAST, MELBOD^NiI.
