IMPERIAL.
Tho shaft lias now reached a tlcptli of 76 feot, and tho reef continues very j strong, and carries good gold. The sink- ;
ing being hard, slow progress is made. Laterly the reef hasjslewcd slightly out of the line of the shaft, but the footwall still shows on one side, and a side cut just put into the lode gives three feet of stone, without as yet any appearance of the opposite wall, thus proving the perfect continuity of the reef in its downward course, a circumstance which inspires the strongest hopes for the future of this, as well as the adjoining leases.
