Public Notice OXYGEN IS LIFE. A LTHOUGH trie modern Materia Medica Xl» indades many valuable remedies or human Afflictions, it is a matter of certainty that in all cases, where the animal vitality is falling, Phosphorus is decidedly superior to any other remedy at present known. It will work effect* such as nothing else will produce, and it possesses the great advantage of not sausing, when its use is relinquished, the slightest action or depression. The question naturally presents itself 'Why is so valuable an element jo little regarded and so seldom prescribed," The only answer which can be given is:— That a certain difficulty has beta found in so preparing it that its action £jjhust be kept «._-iw perfect HMMtMaum it-nas bee& owd to ahnantt »nd olive oils, in sulphurib ether, in rectified Uoohol, in chloroform, and in several other substances ; but however valuable it has been ound iti all the hitherto know methods of ts preparation, certain irregular results have seen experienced, which have led physicians o neglect it tor general purposes, and to employ it oUy in extreme cases and after j every other remedy has failed. But a chemical process has now been discovered, by which its invaluable action en the human system may be realised withou any of those drawbacks which -previous modes of administration have invariably produoed. •ST CAUTlON.— Phosphorus i s sometimes sold^ in the form of Pills and Losenges; it should be generally known; ha every form where nUd particles of Phosphorus are in combination is dangerous. It is therefore n«eemry that the public should be cautioned against the use of any preparation of Phosphorus not perfectly soluble in water. Protected by Royal Letter Patent. Those tbat wish to be represented at the International Exhibition to be held in Christcharch in March next, should inform us of tbeir intention. We have been connected with ail the international inhibitions held in the colonies, At the late Adelaide Exhibition we represented 60 exhibitors, for whom we received 10 gold medals, 49 first, and one second, awards, three of which were New Zealand firms, (D. String and J. T. Martin, Inver, cargill, and O.iJevan, Wellington.) Oar plan is to represent the exhibitors, transact their business, fix tLe exhibit in its space, attend to the judging of exhibits and anything necessary while the Exhibition remains open, and at the close repack and send their goods back, or sell j them or duplicates thereof if required. It is very inconvenient for Exhibitors to have to attend the Exhibition to fix their exhibits, and causes them not only loss of money which they must necessarily expend on them, then again the exhibitors have a benefit, they hare no trouble io getting space, they inform us how much is required, and we secure it tor them as we have a large amouat granted to us. We fix, &c, the exhibits on a better space than if they applied. Our terms are moderate. We specially caution the publio against giving their exhibits to so called Exhibition agents, i who have been the rounds of all the Exhibitions, and ran exhibitors into debt ! aDd other difficulty.— Albert S, -Slanders and Company, British aud Colonial Manufacturers^ Agents ; Head Office, 91 Little Collins street, East; Melbourne; 67 King William street, Adelaide ; Town Hall, Perth, Western Australia ; Permanent Branch in Christchurch.— A dtt.
