(from our OWN CORRESPONDENT.) i London, March 8. In the House of Lords to-day, the Bill was read a first time requiring members of Parliament to make a declaration of- their belief in God. Mills, a Conservative, was elected for Malmesbury, vice Powell who was lost in a balloon recently. Severe fighting has taken place at F-ghim on the Algerian frontier between the Moorish soldiery and French troops. Evans, special correspondent of the Manchester Guardian, has been arrested at Ragusa, for alleged collusion with Dalmatian insurgents. j Melbourne, March 8. j Twenty-seven have made their final payment for the Australian Cup. The new steampship Hindus, 1700 tons, arrived from London to-day. She went ashore at Port Phillip Heads, but got floated without injury.
