CRŒSUS.
Thubsd at, March 2.
The contractors for this company's No. 2 level continue to make excellent progress with the work, the driving being of a very easy nature. The distance attained up to the preatot is about 115 feet. The directors of the company met on Saturday last, to consider tenders for the supply of crushing plant, but no favourable offer was forthcoming, the lowest tender being considerably in excess of what the company was prepared to give. It was decided to call an extraordinary meeting of the shareholders, when it is probable the directors will be empowered to allot the reserved shares, numbering some 6000. Capital will then be called up, and machinery procured upon other terms than were originally proposed.
OUTWA I D BOUND (Old Golden Crown) This is an old property brought to life again, its history being well and favorably known in the district All the stone ever found in it has proved highly payable, the returns being as high as six ounces per ton. The shareholders intend registering and commencing operations on a larger scale with the view of finding the main body of reef, the part worked by the Golden Grown company having proved to be only a Blip — possibly off the high ground. At a meeting held on Saturday last it was decided to register the company in 24,000 £1 shares. Mr J. F. Clark was appointed secretary.
