Judge Gillies has given a decision against Brogden in the great compensation case, which is just finished at Auckland.
Christbhurch, March 26.
Quill, an Ashburton publican, has bought the right for bars and refreshment rooms at the Exhibition for LI, OOO.
March 28.
Messrs Weston, Wickes, and Mcßae visited the Exhibition to-day and took Joubert's advice in regard to putting up the bays for Greymouth and Reefton. Mr Wickes superintends the fitting up, and Thornton assists in laying out the exhibits when they arrive. The building presents a very animated appearance, and exhibits are pouring in
daily.
