Like all early townships, -where a proper trig station has not been established before the survey is made, Beefton suffers in very probable inaccuracy. Out of the whole of the sections in the town few are correct, and i*e /necessity of ji re-survey, now dHeifektiig measurements are to hand, must be apparent "Without doubt such a course would be attended with some inconvenience, and the new survey would show encroachments here and there on the part of neighbors, but if a friendly arrangement were made between all parties before the work was undertaken, an agreement to give and take could be come to, that would avoid all litigation, aud would be far more satisfactory to all persons concerned. It must be remembered that questions of title may arise at any future time, and holders of property at the present time have no security of tenure whatever, so even at some little cost or inconvenience it would be better to have all questions ever likely to arise, settled at once. A thoroughly accurate re-survey would neither be very expensive nor very protracted, whilst the advantage to the public would be great In the face of an acknowledged^ incorrect original survey, the least that the Government can do is to amend it, and we hope that the subject will meet with the consideration that it merits.
