It has transpired that Lord Granville, Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, has received a telegram from Lord DufFerin, British Ambassador, to the Porte, expressing an opinion that in view of the recent action of the Sultan in dispatching Dervish Pasha to Egypt, it is desirable that the meeting | of the proposed Powers to consider the Egyptian question should be postponed. Sir Henry Parkes has left England to visit Belgium. He has announced his intention of returning to Australia at an early date. Constantinople, June 3. Dervish Pasha accompanied by other Turkish officers, sailed to-day for Alexandria. Small-pox is raging with terrible violence at Serajo, capital of an Austrian province in Bosnia. The mortality averages 20 deaths each clay. The Military Committee appointed to consider, from a military point of view, the advisability of constructing the tunnel between England and France, have reported in favor of the project. They suggest, however that the tunnel should be commenced further inland than was contemplated by the promoters. Key. N.
