HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES.
Wellington, August 26. It was resolved that the Resumption of Land for Mining Purposes Bill, and Reserves in Mining Districts Bill be committed, and on the question that the Land Bill be committed at the same time time, a long debate ensued, which was continued up to the hour of adjournment At the evening sitting the suspended discussion in committee on the Resumption of Lands for Mining Purposes Bill was resumed, and the Bill was got through with slight amendments, as also did the Reserves in Aiining Districts Bill. The clauses of the Land Bill were next discussed seriatim, and finally the Bill was reported with amendments, which were agreed to on the understanding that it should be recommitted on Monday next, for the purpose of considering two new clauses, which have not left the draughtsman's hands. The House rose at 4*20 a.ni. It is generally thought that the prorogation of Parliament will take place on Tuesday, sth proximo.
