| Publio Noticoi. I -— j " Lives of great men all remind us, J Wo run ii>nki> our lives sublimpj And, dppnrtinff, leave beliind us Footi>rintb on the eunda of lime." TUB above is read with great interest br thousands of young men. It inspires | them with Hopk, fo*r in the bright lexicon of vcuth there i» no such word hs fail. Alas! saj many, this is correct,— is truo with 'Mgard to" the youth who has never abused his strength — and to the man who has not been ' paßi>ion's slave." But to that youth— «o thnt man, who has waited his vipor, who hus yielded himself up to tho temporary sweet allurements of vice, who haf* given unbridled license to hi 9 pusstona, to him the above lines are but us a reproach. What UoPKcnn he have P. What t irfp»#WKJn» P"-tWhi»t •iwnod't'Of-leftTing Air lootpiints on the sand* of time? For him, alu« ! there im nought but dark despair and self-reproach for a lost life. For a man to leave hi* footprints on the sands of time, he mu*t be endqwjed with a strong brain and nervous power. He must j possess a sound, vigorous, healthy mind, in a healthy bpdj^— the power, to conceive— the energy % execute! But look at our Australian youth ! See the emaciated form, the vacant look, the listless hesitating manner, the nervous distrust, the senseless, almost idiotic expression. Note his deineunour and conversation, and then say, Is that a man to leave his footprints on the'sunds of time. Do parents, medical men and educators of youth pay sufficient attention to this subjpot ? Do they ever ascertain the cause ol this decay ; and having done so, do they (as a strict sense of duty demands) reek the skilled ndvice of the medical man, who has made this branch of his profession his particulur speciality, whose life has been devoted to ;he treatment of these cases ? Header, what iB your answer ? Let each one answer for himself. Parents see their progeny fading gradually before their sight, pee them become emaciated old young men, broken down ia health, enfeebled, unfitted for the battle of life; yet one word might save them, one nound and vigorous health-giving letter from a medical man, habituated to the treatment and continuous supervision of such cases wou' i, in most instances^suoceed in warning oil' tae impending doom ol a miserable and gloomy future, and by appropriate treatment restore the enervated system to its natural vigor, aud ensure a joyous and happy life. Dr L. L. SMITH, of Melbourne, has made the diseases of youth and those arising thord from his peculiur study. His whole professional life hus been especially devoted to the treat men t of Nervous Atfectious and the Discuses incidental to Married Life. His skill is available to ail — no mutter how mt-ij hur.dreda or thouaunda of miles distant. His system of correspondence by letter is now so well orgauised and known, thut comment would be superfluous— (by this weaus many thousands ol patients have been cured, whom he has never seen *ud never known) ; and it ie curried ou with such judicious eupervuon that though ho baa been practising this branch of hja profession for twenty »Bix years ' !i WiKeie^'^is^ino aingter in»tauoe of tfer»| dental disudfery has ever yet happened. WbeD Medicines are required, these are forwarded in the same careful manner without j a possibility of tho <ontents of the parcels being disuovureu, Fluiu and olear directions accompany these latfor, and a cure is effected without eyeu the phyviciun knowing who is his patient.
