The directors have taken out of the hands of the contractor the work of completing -the shoot.and the jiadehiA^jbetwoen Nos. 4 and 5 levels, and it will now be'completed in a very short time. The tender of Michael Ryan was accepted on Saturday last for extending No. G level 500 feet at 375. Gd per foot, and the contractor commenced work this week. During the past month the company's battery has not been running full time, owing to it having been necessary to repair portions of the incline tramways and minor causes. The inclines are now in good repair, as new timber has been put in wherever necessary, and communication between the mine and battery may now be said to be | perfect.
