FEW CREEK.

UNITED VICTORY. A full complement of hands are engaged opening out upon the reef. The intermediate level has now been driven on 60 ft north and 50 ft south, with an average width of reef of from 15 to 18 in. The show of gold is good, very rich patches being occasionally revealed. Over No. 1 level, the rise being taken towards*the surface is up about 18 inches thick, and also exhibiting a creditable show of the precious metal. The rise will probably be holed through in about 10 days. At present the manager is compelled to work at some disadvantage owing to having no accommodation for storage of quartz. The machine paddock is full to overflowing, and every available place within the mine is also stacked full of stone. It is expected that the battery will be in readiness to commence crushing in almut three weeks by which time the mine will be opened up in such a manner that an unlimited number of hands can be placed in the stopes, and should the machinery work without fault, crushing can be continued without intermission for many months. The whole of the works in connection with the water

race are expected to be out of hand within the next three weeks.
