FIERY CROSS AND JUST-IN-TIME
BATTERY.
he battery is still under repair, and will be . putjn., tij^t rate, order when the present work is completed. This is highly necessary as there is a t long season of crushing operations for Various companies, and the battery will be going for a long time to come.
Cther claims throughout the district, the Eureka, Specimen Hill I xtended, South Hopeful, Pactolus, and as sociated Low Level Tunnel are proceeding with works necessary to open up the mines, but there is nothing of importance to state respecting them. The road now being made by the County Council, between the township and the batteries, when completed, will be a great convenience, as it will enable drays to land machinery on the battery sites, instead of, as at present having to sleigh everything necessary.
