I Publio Notices. I" Lives of great men all remind us, We can make our lives sublime ; And, departing, leave behind us Footprint* on the sands of time." maK above is read with great interest by i J_ thousands of young men. It inspires them with Hopb, (or in the bright lexicon of youth there is no such word as fail, lias! saj many, this is correot,— is.true with 'Mgard to tbe youth who has never abused his strength — and to the man who has not been 1 passion's slave." I But to that youth— to that man, who has wacted his vigor, Who. has yielded himself up to the temporary sweet, allurements ot vice, who has given unbridled license to his passions, to him the above lines are but us a reprpuoh. What Hfi*B ouivhe bave^-*Wfaafr aspirations P What chance' of Leading hit footprints on the sands of time? For him, alas ! there ib nought but dark despair and self-reproach for a hit life. For a man to leave hi* lootprints on the sands of time, he mu^t be endowed with a strong brain and nervous power. He must possess a sound, vigorous, healthy mind, in a healthy body —tbe power to conceive— the energy to execute! But look at our Australian youth ! See the emaciated form, 1 the vacant look, the listless hesitating manner, ; the nervous distrust, tbe senseless, almost j idiotic expression. Note his demeanour and conversation, and then say, Is that a man to leave his footprints on the sands of time. Do parents, medical men and educators of youth pay sufficient attention to this subjpet P Do they ever ascertain the cause oi this decay ; and having done bo, do they (as a strict sense of duty demands) seek the skilled advice of the medioal man, who has made this branch of his profession his par* ticular speciality, whose life has been devoted to the treatment of theso oases P Reader, what is your answer ? Let each one answer for himself. Parents see their progeny fading gradually before their sight, ccc them become emaciated old young men, broken down in health, enfeebled, undtted for the battle of life; yet one word might save them, one sound and vigorous health-giving letter from a medioal man, habituated to the treatment and continuous supervision of such cases won' 1, in most instances, succeed in warning oil' tue impending doom of a miserable and gloomy future, and by appropriate treatment restore the enervated system to its natural vigor, and ensure a joyous and happy life. Dr L. L. SMITH, of Melbourne, has made the diseases of youth and those arising therd from bis peculiar study, flis whole professional life has been especially devoted to the treatment of Nervouß Affections and the Diseases incidental to Married Life. His skill is available to all— no matter how m&^y bur.dreda or thousauda of miles distant. His Bjstem of correspondence by letter is now so Well orgauised and known, that comment would be superfluous— (by this Tieaus many thousands ol patients have been cured, whom he has never seen and never kqown) ; and it is carried on with such judioious supervison that though he has been practising this branch of his profession lor twenty«six years io lb«*9%^onM^ s^HWg^ JntMnoe-^-* 00 *' d^M^i«fc©ve^ v hM ey,er yet happened. When Medicines are required, these are forwarded in the same careful manner without a possibility of the contents of the parcels being discovered, Plain and clear directions accompany these latfor, and a cure is effected without e7 en the physician knowing who is his patient. To Men and Women with Broken-down Constitutions, tbe Nervous, the Debilitated, and all suffering from any Disease whatever, Dr L, L. SMITH'S plan ot treatment commends itself, avoiding, as it does, ibe inconvenience and expense f a personal visit, Addbesb — DR. L. L SMITH, 182, COLLIN6 STREET EAST, MELBOOKNB.
