Masterton, September 28.

A dastardly attempt was made to blow up a buggy belonging to the Hey. L. Isitt, on Tuesday night a bottle of gunpowder was put in the box of the buggy, iij a shed at the rear of the house, and a piece of lighted candle fixed in it. The bottle was smashed and the buggy damaged, The explosion was heard by the occupants" of the house, who attributed the noise to the heavy storm.
