To the Mining Registrar at Reefton, of the Nelson South West Mining Distiict, and to all other persons whom it may concern. I HEREBY give notice that I intend to construct a Water-race to divert and use, water for DRIVING MACHINE ;Y FOR SAW MILL, commencing at a point about 3 miles up Gile's Creek, (on south side) from its junction with Inangahua River, and terminating at Saw Mill sife, situate at north east corner, Section "187, Block V, Reefton District. The length of such race is 1| miles or thereabouts, and its intended course is N 85° E, and entirely through Crovn Lands. The mean depth of such race is one foot six inches, and the moan breadth is two feet six. inches, and it is proposed to divert Twelve Governmentheads of water. Applicant : David Landsborough Cociieane. Date and No. of Miner's Right : 10th August 1882. No. 31571. Any person objecting to the granting of this application must lodge his objection in wiiting at the Warden's Office at Reefton, within Thirty clear days from the date hereof. Volunteer's dam Skybird, who was also dam of Day Dawn, Awatea (dam of Grip) .and the Canterbury Derby winner Songster, was imported from England, and was by the Derby winner Teddington out of Skylark, by Peep o'-Day Boy out of Growl, by Bay Middleton.
