They accordingly entered into recognizances of .£IOO each. Adams, who was also present in custody, also entered his own bond for £100. It is not yet finally settled who will form the Royal Commission to report on the rival routes for the proposed northern extension of the South Island main trunk railway. Two of the members have been selected, namely the Hon. Dr. Pollen, M.H.R.and iVr T. Thompson, F.K.G.S., formerly Sur-veyor-Geneial for the Colony. It is at present intended that the Commission shall consist of three members, and that the third will probably be Mr James Futton (1) M.H.R., for Taieri, but this is not yet finally decided. A new trial will be moved for tomorrow in the case of Regina v. Adams.
