The work of sinking a main shaft is progressing, and shortly the company intend erecting winding machinery, as arrangements have been made with Mr Hobby to prepare the necessary plans. The contractors for the extension of the tunnel toward the western lode are pro- : greasing with the work, and should the long neglected reef be struck at the level now driving, it will open up quite a new era for all that are upon the line of reef.
