IMPERIAL.

The weekly clearing up took place at the battery on Saturday last, when 1270z of amalgam was taken from the top plates, after crushing 70 tons. The battery was idle two days during the week, in consequence of the centre of the water-wheel working loose. The defect is now repaired, and crushing will ho continued as usual. The main level north is still being driven, the reef continuing as at last report. On Friday last, good gold was met with in the south rise, and the reef there has since widened out to 3 feet. The different faces throughout the mine at present show an average thickness of 2ft. of stone.
