A ride of seventy miles a day oh fa tricycle is undeniably a good ride, so what are we to say of a ride of 1040 miles in fourteen clays, which gives a rate of over seventy-four miles a day? This feat was performed liy Mr Alfred Nixon, a gentleman of a far from robust appearance, but very well trained for i such an undertaking. He rode from Land's End to John o' Gloats ; the roads i over which he travelled were in parts : the reverse of favourable, and bis i achievement must lie set down as an | extraordinary one. j
