An I'nglish paper says : — Our German rivals are sma'-t A Sheffield merchant who does a large business in cutlry, tells us that a certain local patent for a speciality in scissors ran its fourteen years on August 18. On the 19th, a Sollingen firm delivered to him a quantity of scissors the pattern of the expired patent. 'he Sheffield maker's quotation was some 60s a dozen ; the Sollingen people are able to deliver at 21s a dozen. They are folding scissors, which can be put away in the vest pocket, without inconvenience or danger of injury to the fingers. The German people will now do the business.
