This mine hag unfortunately been almost idle during thy wt-ek owing to the majority of (he hands having refused to work at a le«s rate than L 4 ! per week. There arc at present very few idle men about, owing to so many new companies biding in opeiation, and absorbing all the uvaikyb!^ miners. The directors have consequently wired to other mining cett^s to eudeawour to procure men. in consequence of this state of affiurs the battery is idle.
