Pub'io Notice?. •* Lives of groat men till remind us, Wo can ipt'lfe our live? sublime ; And, departing, leave behind us ."ootprintß on the sands of time." THE above is read with great interest by thousands o< young men. It inapirec them with TfoPB. for in the bright lexicon of •cuth there is no such word us fail. Lias! saj many, this is correct,— is true with"jgard to the youth who has never abused his strength — and to the man who has not been * pulsion's «lnve.' But to that youth— to thnt man, who has wu-led his vigor, Who has yielded himself up t« thetemponry sweet allurements, of vice, who has oiven unbridled license to his passions, lo him the above lines are but as a roproach. What Hope o-»t» he have ? What aspirations? What chance of leaving his lootpiints on the sands of time? For him, ahi*! thr-re i* nou»lit but dark despair and sell-reproach for a lost life. For a man to leave hi* ootprints on the sands of time, he nitt-t be endowed with a strong brain an i uervotw power. He must possess a sound, vigorous, healthy mind, in a healthy body— the pow»*r to conceive— the energy to execute! Hut look at our Au-tralian youth 1 Seethe emaciated form, the vacant, look, the listless hesitating manner, the n.rvous distrust, the senseless, almost idiotic expression. Note his demeanour and conversation, anil then say, Is that a man to leave his lootpriuts on the sands of time. Do parents, medical men a>id educators of youth pay sufficient attention to this sub* ject ? Do they ever ascertain the cause ol this decay ; and having done bo, do they (as a strict sense of duty demands) seek the skilled advice of the medical man, who has mude this branch of his profession his particular speciality, whose life has been devoted to .he treatment of these oaseß ? Header, what is your answer ? Let each one answer for himself, Parents see their progeny fading gradually before their sight, see them become emaciated old young men, broken down in health, enfeebled, unfitted for the battle of life j yet one word might save them, one sound and vigorous health-giving letter from a medical man, habituated to the treatment and continuous supervision of such cases wou' 1, in most instances, succeed in warning on" tne impending doom of a miserable and gloomy future, and by appropriate treatment restore the enervated system to its natural vigor, and ensure ajo.vous and happy life. Dr L. L. SMITH, o» Melbourne, has made the diseases of youth and those arising therd from his peculiar study. Bis whole professional life has been especially devoted to the treatment ol Nervous Affections and the Diseases incidental to Married Life. His skill is available to all— no matter bow rat iy hundreds or thousanda of miles distant. His system of correspondence by letter is now so well organised and known, th tt comment would be superfluous — (by this neaus many thousands of patients have been cured, whom 4gypg_iiever seen md never known) } and it littflmed on with such judicious eupervison that though he has been practising this brauch of his profession for twenty»six years in these colonies, no single instance of accidental discovery has ever yet happened. When Medicines are required, these are forwarded in the same careful manner without a possibility of the contents of the parcels being discovered, Plain and clear directions accompany these latter, and a cure is effected without eyen tbe phy-ioian knowing who is bis patient. To Men and Women wiih Broken-down Constitutions, the Nervous, the Debilitated, and all suffering from any Disease whatever, Dr L, L. SMITH/d plan of treatment com* mends itself, avoiding, as it does, tbe inconvenience and expense f a personal visit, Addb-ss— DR L. L SMIT3, 182. COLLIN. STREET EAST. MKLBOOUNB.
