REEFTON HOSPITAL.

The monthly meeting of the Committee was held at the Southern Cross Hotel, on Wednesday evening, 6th December, 1882. Present : — Messrs Lee (Chairman), Beeche, Patterson, Shaw, Kater. Macquarrie and Thorburn. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. The Surgeon-Superintendent's report was read and adopted. The Secretary reported that MrPalliser Inspector of Audits for the General Government, had examined the Hospital books, vouchers, &c., and certified, " Books in order and well kept." Copy of his report was produced. The following accounts were presented for payment ; — ]

Proposed by Mr Shaw, seconded by Mr Kater, that tha accounts as read be passed for payment. Carried. The Visiting Committee reported that they had inspected the stove at the Hospital, and found it was worn out, and they had instructed the steward to order one similar to Mr Kater's, the cost, landed at the Hospital, would be L3O. Proposed by Mr Beeche, seconded by Mr Patterson, that the action of the Visiting Committee in oidering the kitchen stove be endorsed by this committee. Carried. The Treasurer's balance sheet was read and adopted. Proposed by Mr Patterson, seconded by Mr Beeche, that the Visiting Committee be empowered to getthe necessary repairs done to the verandah, and. steps, as also enlarging, lining and fittings for kitchen; as per plan submitted by the steward, the same to be done by contract, or otherwise, as may be thought besfc < arried. Visiting Committee for the month :— • Messrs' Aiken, Cohen and Collings. The meeting then adjourned.
