LANKEY'S CREEK.
Saturday, Jan. 20th, 1883. The boiler has been safely landed on the mnchine site, and on Friday last it was place in position ready for the work of the bricklayers. The machine site is not quite ready for the erection of the battery, some additional excavation aud blasttng work being found to be necessary before the building can be started. This work will probably be finished by to-night and by Tuesday the carpenters should be able to make a commencement. The foundation for the shoot has been laid and the boxing will be gone ou with at once. Judging by the present appearance of things it seems hardly likely that the plant will be in going order as early as I indicated in my last report, but it may be relied upon that the work will be pushed ahead with might and main.
