THE GLOBE.
There is a fail 1 prospect of the company getting over the difficulty in
! relation to their water-race. • The first obstacle was removed in the Warden's i Court on Tuesday last, when an order 1, was obtained calling upon the Mining '.Registrar to issue the necessary ccrtij ficato to the company for the raea. Tho next step would be to appoint assessors to fix the compensation to Mr Overend, for allowing the race to be carried through his land, but there is reason to believe that the necessity for resetting to this course will be averted by an amicable settlement of the matter. Negotiations to that end are now in progress, and it is very probable that the affair will bo definitely settled in a few days. Communication has been opened in reference to the supply of crushing plant, and it is probable that an agent o£ Messrs Kincaid M'Qneen & Co., will yi|ib Reefton shortly, to negotiate with the directors on the subject. The property of the company has already been proved to be a very valuable one, and the directors are relolved to lose as little time as pos-sible-in bringing.it to productiveness.
