THE GLOBE.
The directors have concluded arrangements with the representative of Eincaid McQueen and Co, of Dunedin for the supply of a battery of twenty head of SOOcwfe stamps together with turbine and aerial tramway. The whole- of the plant is to be erected and in working order in four months of. the day of signing contract, which will probably be about Moh'dJiy 'Week. Arrangements have also been come to with Mr Overend regarding the passage of the water-race through his land,; m that all the negotiations liaye concluded successfully. The race will be about 185 chains in length, and tenders for its construction will be invited at an early date. The tramway will be a straight line from the mine to [the battery, and it will be the best, work of the kind undertaken in the district. The directors are to be congratulated upon the successful and expeditious manner in which they have concluded the whole business and the shareholdars have every reason to be hopeful of the issue of the undertaking. -' • KEEP-IT-DAEK. The battery was sot going in the latter part of the week, but too late to warrant a scraping up of the plates; The usual woekly 'cleaning of the top plates vail take place next Saturday.
