The books of the Government Insurance Department for the nine month's ending December last show the following' gratifying results. No fewer than 9320 policies have been issued in bpfh branches during the period referred; to, assuring £779,650, being in excess of the total new business transacted during any preceding financial period of twelve month's duration.. The new business ] has thus been more' than doubled in the last 'six months! The renewal business also shows a most satisfactory increase, thus improving the permanent nature of the business generally.
