UNITED VICTORY.
During the week there has been a full supply of water, and the battery has been constantly employed. A scraping of the plates last Saturday realised 102 ounces of amalgam, the quantity of stone reduced being 49 tons. The small quantity of stone reduced was due to the fact that only five head were working most part of the week, owing to scarcity of water. The mining manager reported for last week that the stopes had been extended — North Intermediate: No. 5 to 50 feet ; No. 6to 35 feet ; and No. 7to 6 feet. South Intermediate ; No. 5 to 55 feet ; No. 6 to 34 feet ; and No. 7to 8 feet ; the dimensions of the reef and show of gold as usuaL No. 1 level had been extended 11 feet for the week. Cross-cutting west from this level was commenced on Monday last. Over No. 1 level the stopes had up to Saturday last been extended — No 4to 92 feet : No. 5 to 86 feet ; and No. 6 to 12 feet.
