Original Correspondence. THE LATE INQUEST.

(To the Editor, Inangahua Times).

Sib. — Although the subject is an extremely painful one for me to have to refer to, I cannot permit some portions of the evidence given at the inquest, upon my boii to pass without reference. lii the first place, Dr Thorpe never told either myself or my wife that my son was delirious. Had he done so, or had I suspected that such was the case, I should certainly have taken care that my son was never left alone for an instant. All that the doctor said on the Thursday morning was that my son was weak, but getting better again. I told the doctor that my son complained tlmt his head was in combustion, and he had had no sleep for several days" and wanted a sleeping draught, but. the doctor took no notice. Further than this, on Tuesday my son expressed a wish to go into the Hospital, and I told .Div Thorpe bo, and the latter observed that my son was too feverish. On the following day, at my son's request, I again asked the doctor about going to the Hospital, when he replied that Mr Preshaw told him, that. neither myself or my son were subscribers to the institution, and could ittft therefore be admitted. I then offered to pay whatever expenses might bo necessary in order to get my son into the Hospital, but the doctor was still against the removal. I am, etc., ANGELO CERESETO. Reefton, February 22ud, 1883.'
