Mr Wakefield spoke for an hour and a half upontheleading political topics of the day and was listened to with marked attention throughout, At the close of his address he answered a number of, questions, and on the motion of Mr M'Carthy, seconded by Mr Gochorane, a vote of confidence was carried, unanimously. Mr Wake- : field returned to Eeefton last uight, and his appointments for tho current week will be found in our advertising columns. We have been requested by the trustee to notify that the Stock of Boots and Shoes-. in --the Bankrupt, estate of W. J. Shaw, is for Positive Sale on behalf of the Creditors only, and must be cleared off immediately at a Great Reduction on Cost Price. [Advt.]
