The contractors are dowu about 00 feet with the shaft, and it is expected that communication between N"os. 1. and 2 levels will bu established aboufc a week hence. The width of reefa being sunk on shows an average of about 2ft. The tender of F. Hirrisoo was accepted on Saturday last for construction of head-race, and paddock at £328 3s. Tins work has been commenced, and good progress is also being made by those engaged in erecting machine-house and battery. It is calculated that with fair weather everything will be advanced towards completion by the begiuuiug of July.
