Public Notice OXYGEN. IS LIFE. A LTHOUGH Me modwn Materia Medica jt\_ includes many valuable remedies or human afflictions, itie a mutter of certainty that in all cases, -where the animal vitality is falling, Phosphorus is decidedly superior to any other remedy at present known. It will work effects such as nothing else will produce, and it possessep the. great advantage of not 3außing, when its use is relinquished, the slightest action or depression. The question naturally presents itself 'Why is so valuable an element 30 little regarded j Bnd so seldom prescribed," The only answer which can be gi'en. is: — That a certain difficulty has be^a found in so preparing it that its action niust be kept perfect ;ontrol. Hitherto it nas been used in almond md olive oils, in sulphuric ether, in rectified ilcohol, in chloroform, and in several other lubstances ; but however valuable it has been ound iii all the hitherto know methods of j ts preparation, certain irregular results liuve seen experienced, which have led physicians o neglect it tor general purposes, and to employ it owly in extreme cases and after j every other remedy has failed, iiut a chemical process has now beetv discovered, by which its invaluable action on the human system > may be realised withou any of those . draw- . backs which previous modes ol administration I have invariably produced. Js^° CAUTlON.— Phosphorus i s sometimes sold in the form of Pills ana Lozenges j it should be generally kudwn: h every form whore solid particles of Phosphorus are in combination is dangerous. It is therefore necessary that the public should be cautioned against the use of any preparation of Phosphorus not perfectly soluble in water. Protected by Royal Letter Patent. Those that wish to be represented at the International Exhibition to be held in Christchurch in March uexr, should inform us of their intention. We have been connected with all the international Exhibitions held in the colonies, At the late Adelaide -Exhibition we represented 50 exhibitors, for whom we received 10 gold medals, 49 first, and one second, awards, three or which were New Zealand firms, (D. Strang and J. T. Martin, Invert cargill, and G. Bevan, Wellington.) Oar plan is to represent the exhibitors, transact their business, fix tue exhibit in its space, attend to the judging of exhibits and anything necessary wlnle the Ex« hibition remains open, and at the close j repack and send their goods back, or sell j ihetn or duplicates thereof if required, j It is very inconvenient for Exhibitors to have to attend the Exhibition to fix their exhibits, and causes them not only loss of money which they must necessarily expend on them, then again the exhibitors have a benefit, they have no trouble in getting space, they inform us how much is required, and we secure it for them as wo have a large amount j uranted to us. We fix, &c, the exhibits on a better space than it they applisd. Our terms are moderate. We specially caution the public against giving their S exhibits to so called Exhibition agents, ] who have been the rounds of all the Exhibitions, aud run exhibitors into debt and other diilkulty. — Albert 6, Ai-mdurs and Company, British and Colouial Manulacturers s Agents ; Head Office, 91 Little Collius sli.eet, East xVlelbourue 5 67 King William street, j Adelaide ; Town Hall, Perth, Western Australia ; Pcriujincut Branch in Ulirist- ' j church. — A Dvl. !
