The returns for this week are very much below the average, - the reason being that the worked ground is being filled in, and until this is completed only one set of stopes can be kept going, and these happen to Jbe in the poorest part of the reef.. As soon, howeyer, as work is resumed in the other- stores, the yield will be brought up to* the average, as the^ stone there is of much better qualily.' ' The filling in will be completed iv about ten days.
