Mr M. W. Green gave notice of a Bill to empower shopkeepers and others to regulate the hours of business.

Mr Feldwick gave notice of a motion, that leave of absence he granted to Mr Pilliefc, on account of illness.

Mr Fish gave notice of his intention to ask the Government, whether it is their intention this session to introduce a bill to amend the "Licensing Act," by abolishing elective committees, and substituting the nominated system. Mr Hutcheson jg&ve notice., of ■ motion, of his intention to ask the Minister of Lands whether he intends to publish the tenders sent in for leasing Native lands on the West Coast, and to indicate the reasons (if any exist), for declining the highest offer, when such a step is taken. Mr, Hutchison gave notice of motion for a nominal return of the several officers employed in the Government Life Assurance Department, with the salaries and commission paid to these officers. Mr Hutchison gave notice of his intention to ask the Minister of Public Works if he will state the clause of the railway regulations which places railway employees on the footing of Civil Servants, as he said they were in replying to a question in the House on the 14th; and the clause by which these employees are forbidden to bring their grievances under the notice of members of the Legislature or other persons. Replying to Mr Hutchison on the subject of public vaccination the Colonial Secretary said the Public Health Act described the duties of vaccinators, who were selected from persons qualified to do the work. Mr Shaw moved the Address-in-Reply in a long speech. The motion was seconded by Mr Lee, and the debate still continues.
