A rehearsal of those who have promised to take part in the forthcoming Hospital entertainment, will be held in the Odd fellows' Hall, this evening, at 8 o'clock.
Mr Thornton, (he Reefton State School master* was to have left Wellington in the Grafton, on Saturday last, aud may therefore be expected here in a day or two.
The monthly meeting of the Hospital Committee, will be held at the Southern Cross Hotel, on Wednesday evening next. <
The time for receiving tenders for the supply of firewood and mining timber for the Eureka Company has been extended until Saturday, 7th July instant, at 8 p. m.
It will be observed that Mr B. I. Johnstone, and Mr Watkins, authorised surveyors, have entered into partnership aa mining engineers, and surveyors, and have opened offices at Reefton and Lyoll.
The f?rm are prepared to undertake every kind of surface and underground surveys, and furnish plans and estimates for all kinds of mining machinery.

Mr M. R. Gissing announces that he has for sale plant for establishing telephonic communication, either between business establishments in town, or between surface arid underground in mines. The apparatus is simple and cheap, and the advantages of the system are well known. Full particulars niay he had on application to the agent. . , .
Although the amount realised by tbe Cricketers Concert on Thursday evening last was comparatively small, the entertainment itself proved a very enjoyable one, a.n4 was certainly worthy of better recognition at the hands of the public. Of the ladies howevery Miss- 'Mueller was in exfltellent voico, sbdinboth the solos and duets displayed the taste aad finish which at all times characterises her singing. Miss Gittaes, from Black's Point, made a j very successful demit, displaying a pleasing voice, and good self-possession. Miss Ceroseto performed a rather difficult piano solo (overture) very cleverly, her execution being remarkably good, and evidently possesses - more than ordinary amateur dexterity. Mrs Twohill sang " Eillarney " very nicely, and was warmly applauded. The comic department, was in the hands of Messrs Cooper and Reid, who each acquitted themselves capitally. The other singers, Messrs Lynch, Dunn, Oasely, aud Nash, acquitted themselves ably. The acoompaniments, by Messrs Berthold and Reid, added much io the success of the concert.
