The sufficiency of the evidence taken at the enquiry will, rt is understood, be questioned, as also the constitution of the Committee, so that the debate is likely to be an angry one. The Globe battery was kept going until about half-past five on Saturday evening, at which hour the stampers recorded 75 strokes per minute, with the ports half open, which fully meets the stipulations of the specifications. Much praise is due to Mr M'Griggor, the representative of the i contractors, under whose supervision the whole of the machinery has been erected, for the able manner in which he has performed the work. The aerial tramway is being erected under the direction of Mr } M'Pherson, and it is to be. hoped that at the close of the present week, when the works are expected to be but of hand, he will have established an equal claim to approbation.
