[Fbom oub Mining Reporter.] Saturday, September 15. The following are the battery returns for the past week : — KBBP-rr-;DABK^—3S6ozB of amalgam from 196 tons of stone. Oriental. — 70nzs. of amalgam (four and a-half days' crushing). LANKEY'S CREEKA practical miner accredited from the Dunedin shareholders reached here early in the week and has since occupied himself in inspecting the machinery and mine. The local directors have rendered the visitor all the information and facilities in their power and conducted him o^r the workings, so that his inspection might be as complete as possible. What the nature of his opinion of the property is, will, of course, only be known through the Dunedin shareholders, to
whom he will no doubt report fully, and thereby set them right upon a good many matters. It is said that the local directors have decided to forward a further answer to the complaints of the Bunedin shareholders. The company was sued for debt in the Magistrate's Court on Tuesday last, but the matter Was settled before being called on, so that one source of embarrassment has been got rid of.
