LYELL MINING.
UNITED ALPINE. Friday, November 1 6 . Tenders close this evening for working a portion of this mine on tribute. According to the specifications, it is intended that the tribute shall extend from a point some 30 feet north of the main pass to any distance south, between Nos. 4 and 5 levels. The conditions throughout are very favorable. The company will crush all quartz obtained by the tributers, charging a small fee per ton for the use of the battery. Not less than six men are to be employed, and the contract shall be for a term. of twolve I months. At No. 6 lev«l the ustiarheadway is being made, there being no material change in the character of the country pierced. j
