The weekly scraping of the plates took place to-day, when 2750z5. of amalgam were obtained from 198 tons of stone. The quantity of retorted gold obtained for the fortnight is 2570z5. 13dwts. Th« newly opened reef on the low level has been driven across, and shows a thickness of fully six feet. The reef is widening out as it goes south, the increase being considerable. The stone looks well, and will compare favorably with any obtained in the upper levels.
