NOTICE. VS a report is circulated, that I, Wm. THUROGOOD, went to the Stewards of the Reefton Jockey Cub, which was held at Mr Cochran's Hotel, on the 14th of December, and made a statement, which was the cause of the Jockey Club disqualifyingE. Cahill from riding at Reefton races, aud that I afterwards asked them ta reiustate him again, I distinctly deny that I ever went to the meeting of th& Stewards, or said one single word to them about disqualifying E. Cahill,. and I think it rather a serious charga to blame me for so doing, but I must say the names of the stewards should be quite sufficient to clear myself of such a charge, as I do not think any of those gentlemen would take any notice of any one, but do their duty/ as stewards should do, Wm. THUROGOOD. Totara Flat, Dec. 19th, 1883. S"OUTH HOPEFUL QUARTZ MINI ING COMPANY, LIMITED.
