Friday, December 2 1. About 35 feet have been driven north upon the reef in No. 6 level. The body of stone is rather smaller than when first intersected, but the usual excellent show of gold is raain*tained. A considerable quanity of crushing stuff is hot. stored at the mouth of the level. The tender of J. Osborne has been accepted for construction of shoot, paddock, and tramway to connect this level with the battery. A good many men will he employed upon this contract. The contractor invites tenders, . closing tonight for all timber required in connection with the work. The tributevs have Setween 80 and 90 tons of stone to grass. They have been driving south upon body of quartz above No. 5 level south, and are now about to iisi> upon the stone, which is about six feet wide.
