In the north face and stone shows somewhat broken, but maintains a width of four or five feet The south face shows a compact reef, with a continuation • of good gold The outside works are i being despatched as rapidly as circum- ' stances will permit, and as soon as the paddock is ready for storage the i number of lands within the mine will ' be increased. Among other inside ' improvements, this company is. constructing a tramway for th 3 delivery of . timber at No. 6 level, The tributers |. are sending out some very fair quality stone at present. They will commence crushing about the 25th mat. f CRCESUS. • Tenders close on Saturday (to-mor-t row) at 4pm, for working this mine on tribute for a period of six months. ' LYELL GREEK EXTENDED. • Between 40 and 50 feet have been 5 driven by this company's contractors. The country, although hard is good driving ground, and satisfactory 3 progress is being made. b TYR CONNELL. The contractors commence driving ' No 5 level this week. The country is ■ hard, but good shooting ground. \ UNITED ITALY. Driving south upon the reef, which shows a thickness of three feet in the face, and carries very good gold. The ' distance driven in this direction up to ' the present is 30 feet
