The works are going on steadily, but as the construction of the tramways is rather behind hand, the contractors for those works have engaged additional hands in order to hurry on the work. The machine contractor is making good progress with his portion of the work. The saw mill is now occupied in cutting timber for waterrace, machine paddock and other work. JUST-IN-TIME. O'Neill and party have nearly completed their contract for extension of low level north. The driving continues tolerably easy. GLOBE. A very pleasant surprise was given to the shareholders on Saturday evening last, when" it became known that the battery returns for the week were more than three times greater than for the previous week, the yield being 8930z5. of amalgam. This, of course, includes the contents of the boxes. This is by far aud away the best yi«ld yet obtained from the mine, and augurs well for the future of the company.
