With ' regard' to the Aiawhenoa tragedy, in, which Garlacnl shot his wife and himself 6u T.-ursday last, an inquest was lield yesterday, the evidence showed that financial trouble urged Garland to the committal of the double deed. The jury returned a verdict to the effect that J. W G a land committed the deed, but there was not sufficient evidence as to his sanity produced. ChbISTCHURCB, 2. The case of Fuchs v. Union Cotftpany, was concluded this evening, when a verdict for plantift with. £1000 damages and coats was allowed. Sir George Grey is expected to arrive here oh Thursday.
